Bogota Film Festival

Colombia Begins 24th Film Festival

The 24th Bogota Film Festival will start on Wednesday with the participation of 16 foreign films competing for awards in new young directors' work.

The Festival will be represented by the most recent Colombian productions along with films like "Satanas" from Andres Baiz and "Apocalipsur" from Javier Mejia as well as films from Mexico, Iran, Italy, Bolivia, Argentina, Germany, Brazil and India, among other countries.

The event will open Wednesday night with the premier "El Sueno del Paraiso" (The Dream of Paradise) from the Colombia Carlos Palau, a complicated and tragic love story between a Japanese man and a Colombian woman in the 20th century.

Egypt, guest of honor, will show seven movies and will be represented by the moviemaker Khaled El Hagar, director of "Una Cama a Cualquier Precio" (A bed at any price), member of the First Work's jury.

The event that will end October 11 will also comprises short movies, video, talks, digital films and documentaries.
