Walkers stepping up to help fight breast cancer

The American Cancer Society will host the inaugural Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk in Livingston County on Saturday at the historical Livingston County Courthouse in Howell.

The three-mile, noncompetitive walk will begin at 9 a.m. — registration begins at 7 a.m. — allowing participants to walk at their own pace.

Proceeds from the pledge-based walk will go toward cancer research, advocacy education and services. “What’s special about our Livingston County event is that it’s community-based,” said American Cancer Society Community Representative Jennifer Acker. “The walk will be smaller and more intimate than urban-based events tend to be.”...more
