Community development passes muster from Feds
By AdminMUNCIE—The city’s Community Development office has earned a clean bill of health less than two years after the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development declared it high risk and suspended its funding.
“We’ve come a long way,” Muncie Mayor Sharon McShurley said this week.
On Oct. 16, the HUD field office in Indianapolis delivered to city officials the 2008 Annual Performance Review for Muncie Community Development, declaring, “We have determined that the performance of the city of Muncie is acceptable. ...”
